Colorado Mountain Views x Beach
Ok, so beach is generous. But it's as close as we are going to get in our very landlocked state of Colorado. Chatfield State Park is the perfect spot for family photos, especially when your one year old puppy is obsessed with the water.
This is the second time I've had the absolute pleasure of photographing this family. Here is last year's winter, snowy sesh. One this I love about this family is that they aren't afraid to play. Movement looks good on everyone. Exploring nature makes kids happy. Happy kids take beautiful, playful family photos. Add in their new puppy? Multiply the chaos, and the perfect photos.
Foothills and water make for pretty pictures. It's that simple.
It is a joy to live in southwest Littleton. As a photographer, I couldn't be more grateful for the most stunning locations just a quick drive away.
Family photos that feel real to this moment in your life.
Of course everyone wants the traditional, smile at the camera, photo. We'll get those for sure. And we'll also pepper in candids, playful moments, interactions between your kids, the dog chasing them around. The best of both worlds here is that we can combine lifestyle photography with documentary photography. This actually seems to jive best with kids - you know who doesn't want to sit still and look pretty for an entire session? Kids. You know who does want to move around, run, play, kick up some sand? Kids.
Family photos should feel like a laid back family outing.
Investing in family photos is a lot - it's a labor of time, resources, and love. The best thing you can do for your family is enjoy it. You get to intentionally spend time with your favorite people. And you get some sweet souvenirs by way of photos.
Remember their gap tooth smile.
These kids are stunningggg. And they won't have these smiles forever. The braces will come off, the teeth will grow in. Sometimes we think that the baby season is so fleeting, it's easy to forget that the big kid years go by just as fast.
