There's a special magic when all of your extended family is in the same place at the same time.  Time with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins is worth remembering.  Take the photos!

We will absolutely get the standard posed, traditional photos.

But in my opinion, extended family photos are best captured with a documentary lens.  There is a special something about photos that are real and embody the spirit of childhood (especially when it involves perfectly grumpy pouts, authentic play and gap toothed smiles).
