Project 365: A Year in Documentary Family Photography

What is Project 365?

A year long photo journaling project.  Documenting real life.

Practice, Practice, Practice

I want to grow as a documentary photographer and the best way to do it is to get hands on practice.  Indoor light, harsh sunlight, cloudy days, people, things, animals.  Refining shooting in manual mode in a variety of different settings.  Documenting my family's every day moments helps refine my ability to document your every day moments.

Reflection

I was never very good at journaling.  Photographing our every day felt like a meaningful way to preserve our memories.  From my great grandfather's funeral, to tense basketball games, to quiet (and loud) moments at home - I'm grateful I have these photos to remind me of how beautiful our days were.

January felt easy.  I was super motivated to pick up a camera every day.
