When it comes to family photography, especially with a pair of brothers, it's important to find a location that offers lots of space for movement.  A park is the perfect spot - picturesque views for mom, playground for kids.  A win-win.

Sterne Park


The family showed up ready to have fun—decked out in tie-dye and energy. As a Littleton family photographer, I love working with families who lean into the chaos. These parents of two busy boys did just that.


We started our session at Sterne Park, a perfect spot for fall family photos in Littleton. The park offers a variety of beautiful backdrops, including a playground where one kiddo managed to fling himself off the merry-go-round. Capturing candid moments is a great way to showcase their personalities—full of life and energy.


From there, we strolled around the park, taking advantage of the big open field, a charming walking path near the xeric garden, and the stunning lake. Autumn colors + tie dye = big, bold, beautiful portraits. The boys ran, played, and roughhoused, making for the most real & true to life family portraits.

Capturing the Beauty of the War Memorial Rose Garden


After exploring Sterne Park, we crossed the street to the War Memorial Rose Garden, a breathtaking spot for outdoor family photos in Littleton. The garden features mountain views, colorful blooms, and a serene atmosphere. We were fortunate that the roses were still in bloom, adding vibrant pops of color to the photos.

Why Sterne Park and the War Memorial Rose Garden Are Ideal for Family Photos

Sterne Park and the War Memorial Rose Garden are two of my favorite locations for outdoor family photography sessions in Littleton, Colorado. Sterne Park offers a mix of beautiful landscapes, including the pond, open fields, and lush trees. The park’s playground is a hit for kids, providing plenty of opportunities for candid shots full of joy and personality.


The War Memorial Rose Garden, with its mountain views and vibrant flowers, adds a touch of elegance and beauty to any session. The garden’s variety of roses creates a lovely atmosphere, making it a perfect location.

Let your kids be kids.

Family photography is about connection, play and an honest representation of what it feels like to be a part of your family. Kids do best when they're allowed to move, explore and play.  This is the perfect location for jus that.  Encouraging families to lean into the chaos—to let kids run, play, and be themselves—is always the right answer.
